#Repost @gains4girls ・・・ This isn't anything most of you haven't heard before but if it teaches just one person something new or allows them to re-evaluate things then I'll be happy ???? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ STOP FOCUSING ON YOUR SCALE WEIGHT. If I used this as a sole measure of 'progress' since I started training 4/5 years ago I'd think I was still at square one as I weigh pretty much the same (if not heavier actually) as I did when I was 19/20. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The key is that my body composition is entirely different. Remember: *muscle is denser than fat*. The above photos are just a year apart and I weigh *exactly* the same in both photos, but I'm leaner in the right photo. Bearing in mind I also spent a good 6/7 months in a significant deficit last year whilst prepping for various shows. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm not saying to completely disregard scales, there can be some use in them. I'm using them now as I cut for my holiday. But, if you find that your scale weight gives you more anxiety, if it dictates your mood or impacts how you value yourself as a person... then stop ✋???? Instead focus on the efforts you can put in to get you from A > B (or rather to keep you 'progressing'). Focus on fuelling your body, on training hard and consistently *over a looong period of time* & applying progressive overload. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know it's easier said than done but please, don't sweat the small stuff: like a number on a scale or which supplements you should be taking or how many grams of carbs/fat/protein your favourite influencer is taking or how many times she trains her glutes a week.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ IMO: learn the basic compounds and *execute them well*, get enough food in to fuel your goals, enjoy life & accept that it's not going to be a linear journey of progression but as long as you're having fun with it then wtf does the time frame matter?! ????????‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ AC????
