"Phil is my highschool sweetheart. The first day of my senior year, I walked into what I thought was my P.E. class but turned out to be a weightlifting class. When I looked around the room, I immediately noticed I was the only female and turned to run for the door. That's when Phil walked in. My breath got caught in my throat. He was the one. I just knew it. Tall, dark and handsome and truly my dream guy in every way- right down to his dimples. Needless to say, I stayed in that weightlifting class. Phil and I became fast friends after discovering we had multiple classes together and lived only 5 minutes away from each other. However, Phil had a girlfriend at the time who lived in California that he met at summer camp. They decided to stay together long distance so him and I became just friends. In a lucky coincidence, Phil broke his wrist just a few weeks into the semester, so he was only able to lift very light weights. The coach paired us up together since I was the only other person who lifted as light. Phil took me to homecoming, met my family, and helped me through a very painful time in my life. He truly became a best friend to me while still staying true to the girl he was seeing at the time. Looking back, it was a blessing that he was dating someone else because it allowed us to become close friends. We developed this very deep, sweet, genuine friendship that is still our foundation to to this day. Four months later, Phil took me out to dinner, pulled my hand in his, and told me he had broken it off with his girl from summer camp. His next words are still played perfectly in my head to this day, "I want to be with you forever Michelle." That was 6 years ago, and I'm still madly head over heels for this man."
