"Tim and I met on October 14th, 2011. He is Australian and I am American. I had been working my usual Friday night shift waitressing at a sports bar when a group of four men sat at my table. Tim was the one who talked the least out of the group, if at all. The bar that I waitressed at was a really small bar in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't in the way of anything, let alone Australia. Turns out they were there on a trip to ride their BMX bikes on the "best trails in the world." Only serious BMX fans know about these trails, even most of the locals don't know they exist. In Tim's case, he's known about them since he was thirteen. So after their ride, they strolled into my bar and sat at one of my tables. Tim being as shy as he is still managed to hand me his number and ask if I ever wanted to go out sometime. The first few times we went out together changed my life. I knew early on that he was different. He treated me the way I knew I deserved to be treated. Not long after he went back to Australia, he asked me to fly over and spend New Years with him. I fell in love with not only Tim but Western Australia as well. Australia has a novelty around it. It's one of those places you dream of and it really is so magical. Those two weeks were the best two weeks of my life. Saying goodbye to him was a painful challenge. However, we managed to maintain our relationship long distance and got engaged a year later at the top of the Empire State Building. Now we're married and I count my blessings every day that we found each other. In the middle of no where might I add. Sometimes I still can't believe he's real."
