bTV is the Most Trusted Information Source, According to a New Market Links Survey

bTV Media Group Delivered the Strongest TV Content in 2018

bTV Media Group’ program offerings attracted the greatest number of viewers in 2018 - 42,3% of the entire TV audience in Bulgaria throughout last year.

The Voice of Bulgaria was the most watched entertainment show in 2018, The Farm was the leader in the reality genre, and MasterChef Bulgaria was the top culinary format last year.

Now and Forever was the most preferred fiction title, followed by Brave and Beautiful, and Capital Hillbillies retained its position as the number one Bulgarian series ever since bTV launched the new wave of contemporary TV cinema in 2010. The 170-episode-long story Dear Heirs, which aired at 6 pm on workdays, has attracted more fans than the primetime fiction pillars of the main competitor. The blockbuster Break Point topped the ranking of the movie titles in 2018, in which all films in the Top 30 chart were broadcast on bTV. All entertainment shows and fiction titles, delivered by bTV in the primetime slot 20:00 – 22:00 in 2018, were the viewers’ favorites in the spring and fall seasons, significantly ahead of the rival offerings.

Among the most watched programs were also the late night shows Paparazzi and Slavi’s Show.

In 2018 bTV further strengthened its position as the most trusted information source, according to more than 37% of the respondents in a national representative survey, conducted by Market Links in December 2018 (18+). The trust in the channel has increased compared to 2017 when 33% of the respondents identified bTV as the media with the highest trust.

The findings of Market Links are confirmed by the viewership results of bTV’s news programs in 2018. bTV News at 7 pm and bTV Reporters top the news chart with nearly 1 million viewers on average.

The most watched current affairs shows Face to Face and 120 Minutes gathered 685 00 and 634 000 viewers on average. This Morning and Before Noon were the absolute leaders among the morning information and lifestyle blocks with nearly 47% and 45% shares, respectively. Karbovski: Second Plan leads in the Saturday prime access with 31,2% share, twice bigger than the share of the main competitor’s program at the same time.

Among the most watched entertainment shows for 2018 were the special festive editions of The Comedians and Slavi’s Show, broadcast on the New Year’s Eve, which attracted more than 1,2 million viewers - 38% more compared to 2017.

bTV Media Group gained the biggest audience with its thematic channels as well. Most preferred in 2018 were bTV Comedy, bTV Action and bTV Cinema.

The most watched sports event for 2018 was the The WorldCup, aired on BNT1.
