Impressive Launch of bTV’s Fall Season in All Genres and Timeslots

The Farm is the Number One TV Program in September

bTV’s primetime entertainment programs won the interest of the greatest number of viewers at the launch of the fall TV season, according to GARB* data. The leading TV channel reports impressive results of all of its returning programs and new titles in all timeslots. bTV’s all day content has attracted 36% of all viewers in September, which is more than twice as much as the share of the second most watched TV – Nova, 16%.

The hit show The Farm: Unification, which shows how Bulgarians living here and emigrants can be rivals in a game but be unified for the sake of the country, tops the chart for September with an average of more than 1 million viewers and 42,3% share of all people in front of the TV screen. bTV’s key primetime project this fall is also the number one choice of the viewers aged 18-34 and 18-49.

The Bulgarian series Dear Heirs made a strong return of the continuation after the summer break. On average, since Sept 17th 38,5% of all viewers have chosen the stories from Beli Vit. The series, airing every workday at 6 pm on bTV, reports much better results for All4+ than the key primetime productions of the main competitor last month.

The high interest in the entertainment content of bTV at the start of the fall season was also reflected online, in the catch-up video platform btvplus.bg where all episodes can we watched for free up to 7 days after broadcasting. Since the beginning of the year the number of video views on the platform has increased to 6 104 932.

Among the local productions which made a very strong return in September are also Slavi’s Show, Paparazzi, Karbovski: Second Plan and Marmalade.

bTV’s news and current affairs programs reinforced their leading position at the start of the fall season.

The information leader and most trusted news source – bTV News at 7 pm – has attracted nearly 44% of all viewers, with 124% more than the evening newscast of the second most watched channel Nova. The central bTV newscast is also the undisputed leader among the audiences aged 18-49 and 18-34. All bTV newscasts attract more viewers in September than Nova’s central newscast. Among the top programs for the entire audience last month are also bTV Reporters, the current affairs show Face to Face with Tsvetanka Rizova, and the Sunday show 120 Minutes with Svetoslav Ivanov.

This Morning with Anton Hekimyan has attracted nearly 47% of all in front of the TV screen in its timeslot in September, with 142% more than the second most watched morning block. In comparison, Nova’s Hello Bulgaria has gathered 19% of the viewers at this time, and BNT’s Morning show – 10,4%.

bTV Media Group’s thematic channels have improved their performance, especially among the young audience 18-34, both year to year and with regard to the competition. In September bTV’s channels report a cumulative share of 11,1% vs. 6,7% for Nova’s channels.
