With a special election studio and the impressive 3D mapping show “Direction,” bTV marked the start of the “Elections 2026: Bulgaria Decides” campaign. On Monday evening, the special television production, broadcast live from two locations, immersed viewers - both in front of their screens and in the square - in the important historical moments of the development of the Bulgarian state and in reflection on choosing a direction for the future.
“You have a voice; you have a choice. With this message, we affirm bTV News’ role as a reliable source of information and as a media guide amid the public noise. We cover events from across the country and the world with a commitment to accuracy and objectivity. With the ‘Elections 2026: Bulgaria Decides’ campaign, we aim to promote awareness, critical thinking, and active citizen participation in the democratic process and the April 19 elections.” - stated Ralf Bartoleit, CEO of bTV Media Group.
bTV’s election studio “Elections 2026: Bulgaria Decides,” featuring Svetoslav Ivanov and Zlatimir Yochev, focused on topics important to the people, the political and social landscape, and the country’s future. Together with their guests, the hosts presented the latest poll data on expectations for the future government.
As part of an immersive audiovisual experience from Knyaz Alexander I Square, viewers witnessed an interpretation of the Bulgarian people’s journey - from the establishment of statehood and the formation of spiritual identity, through the struggles for freedom, wars, and totalitarian rule, to the restoration of democracy and the choice of a European future. The performance “Direction” was structured in three parts - “Memory,” “Trials,” and “Your Choice” - each with its own visual style and emotional impact. “Memory” emphasized the historical legacy through symbols and images linked to the roots of Bulgarian statehood. “Trials” recreated dramatic moments from history, highlighting the strength of spirit and resilience of the Bulgarian people. The climax came in the third part - “Your Choice”- where the finale directed attention toward the upcoming vote as the next crucial moment for the country, emphasizing the importance of an informed choice. The building of the National Art Gallery and the National Ethnographic Museum came to life with the visions of bTV viewers for what our country should look like. Among them, the words “freedom,” “independence,” “democracy,” “kindness,” and “community” stood out. The beautiful spectacle was created by the Bulgarian studio for 3D mapping and interactive solutions, MP-Studio.
The pre-election campaign “Elections 2026: Bulgaria Decides” continues across all current bTV shows and digital platforms, featuring thematic debates and interviews with party leaders and candidates for the National Assembly.
