bTV is celebrating 25 years - trust, quality journalism and entertainment for the whole family

The TV channel is marking its 25th anniversary, while the popular music radio station N-JOY is celebrating 19 years since its first broadcast

As is tradition, bTV celebrates its birthday on 1 June. On this date in 2000, Bulgaria's first private national television channel began broadcasting. Today marks 25 years since that historic moment, and a quarter of a century of quality journalism and entertainment content, of entering the homes of several generations of viewers, and of establishing itself as an established brand in the Bulgarian media market.

Throughout the years, bTV has consistently developed innovative formats and technological and creative solutions in both linear and digital environments. It has also adopted the best global practices and reflected audience preferences. Through its news broadcasts, public affairs programs, sports coverage, lifestyle shows, glamorous entertainment programs, popular reality formats and premieres of films from around the world - including Bulgarian cinema - bTV has become an integral part of the daily lives of Bulgarian families. According to annual, nationally representative surveys conducted by Market Links and Noema, bTV has consistently been the first choice for television viewing among Bulgarian viewers aged 18 to 54 over the past decade.

bTV became the first television station in Bulgaria to adopt the so called “green filming” standard for its flagship projects. As part of the CME and PPF Group, bTV has joined the media industry leaders who are striving to reduce their carbon footprint. Today, Radio NJOY, one of the country's largest and most popular music radio stations and part of the bTV Radio Group, celebrates its 19th anniversary. By playing hot contemporary pop hits, interesting showbiz news and fun music games, the radio station creates a great mood and brings joy to its listeners every day.

Over the years, N-JOY has established itself as a leading radio station for modern music and culture, inspiring and uniting thousands of young Bulgarians. The station organizes popular campaigns such as the “NJOY Summer Tour” and the “Back-to-School” initiative. With its diverse music selection, engaging programs and direct engagement with listeners, N-JOY remains the voice of the new generation, having long transcended the boundaries of traditional radio to thrive in the digital landscape.

To celebrate 25 years of bTV and 19 years of Radio N-JOY, the media outlet is holding a big outdoor event on Children's Day and inviting its viewers and listeners to join the fun. From 31 May to 1 June, a special entertainment “town” will be set up next to the National Palace of Culture, offering entertainment, surprises and celebrations for all ages.

Visitors can immerse themselves in themed areas dedicated to bTV and Radio N-JOY, inspired by popular reality shows such as “Home Makeover”, “The Bachelor”, “I love my country”, “The Biggest Looser”.
