bTV Media Group and the special charity episode of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” were awarded first place in the Cause Marketing category at the Annual Responsible Business Awards 2024. The prestigious ESG competition is organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum and the winners were announced at a ceremony on March 24.
On February 17, 2024, the special charity edition of the show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, hosted by Niki Kunchev, was broadcast, raising funds for the “Hot Lunch” program of the Bulgarian Red Cross. The program provides free meals to students from socially disadvantaged families across the country and supports their integration into the school community. For the 2023/2024 school year, the amount raised is four times higher than in previous years, and 1,755 students were supported, a record number in the 20-year history of the “Hot Lunch” program.
“The campaign in support of the Bulgarian Red Cross helps children to go back to school, where they get knowledge, and this is one of the main goals of the show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” - to promote education and knowledge”, said from the stage Dimana Bankova, Brand Manager at bTV.
“I thank this forum for putting us in the prestigious company of business leaders in Bulgaria. This is a great recognition that shows that bTV and the show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” are socially responsible and care about people in need,” said the show's host Niki Kunchev.
The annual Responsible Business Awards are a long-standing project of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, which for 22 years has provided a prestigious platform for responsible companies and their successful initiatives for the benefit of employees, society and the environment implemented during the previous year.
