Desislava Mincheva receives an award at BG Fashion Icon 2025

Desislava Mincheva, bTV and SME correspondent for European institutions, received the award in the Media and Journalism category at the BG Fashion Icon 2025 ceremony. She received the award for her high professionalism, sense of style, and the good example she sets in society.

This year's ceremony introduced a new and significant category, Overall Contribution, with legendary singer Sylvie Vartan and soccer star Hristo Stoichkov as the first recipients of the prestigious award. They received the award in recognition of their outstanding work in promoting a positive global image of Bulgaria, as well as their substantial social and charitable contributions. Niki Kanchev, the beloved host of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, was among the award winners. He received a prize in the “TV Host” category, which is further proof of his enduring presence on Bulgarian television and his stylish image.

“My work is a team effort, and I am extremely grateful to everyone in the international department of bTV. This is an award for all of us. Apart from telling a story well, the style I identify with and would like to follow in journalism is conveying emotions,” said Desislava Mincheva, a journalist and bTV News correspondent in Paris and Brussels.

“The criteria for winning the BG Fashion Icon Award are based on three requirements. First, exceptional professional achievements. Second, an impeccable reputation. And third, of course, perfect visual culture and convincing style in dress and public behavior,” said Prof. Lyubomir Stoykov, chairman of the Fashion Academy's Expert Council.
