In January 2018 bTV continued the trend outlined in the annual viewership results for 2017, and strengthened its position as the most preferred TV channel in Bulgaria. More than 35% of all viewers chose bTV in the first month of the year, which is twice the share of the audience, attracted by the second most watched channel. These findings are by the only audited people meter system in the country - GARB.

The new entry in the chart is the innovation, delivered by bTV in the local fiction genre - the daily Bulgarian series Dear Heirs, which became a total hit and “the talk of the town”, and logically got in the top 5 with nearly 1 million viewers on average. More than 41% of all in front of the TV screen at 6 pm on weekdays chose Dear heirs. The series also attracted 38,4% of the young viewers aged 18-34, and nearly 38% of the fans aged 18-49. More than 300 000 unique views caught up on the intriguing family story at Beli Vit on bTV’s video platform btvplus.bg in January.

The viewers’ favorite that topped the chart again is the series Now and Forever. More viewers - 1,230 million Bulgarians on average - followed the dramatic story in the January episodes.

The information leader and most trusted news source – bTV News at 7 pm – added more viewers last month – 1,193 mln. on average, and reached nearly 46% of all in front of the TV screen. Among the audiences aged 18-49 and 18-34 bTV News at 7 pm is stably occupying the first place in the charts.

In the top 5 are also bTV Reporters and the current affairs show Face to Face with Tsvetanka Rizova.

The Sunday show 120 Minutes with Svetoslav Ivanov is among the top ten most watched programs for January.

bTV This Morning with Anton Hekimyan is the only weekday morning show in the top 50 programs chart attracting 46,6% of all in front of the TV screen. In comparison, Nova’s Hello Bulgaria attracted 18,9% of the viewers at this time, and BNT’s The Day Began – 11,4%.

Among the most watched local programs in January are also bTV’s Slavi Show, Karbovski: Second Plan, Paparazzi, Marmalade, The Unknown, CoolT, Wanted, Before Noon and This Saturday.

bTV’s selection of fiction titles was again preferred by the greatest number of viewers. Among the most watched titles for January are Mata Hari, Catherine the Great, The Heart of the City, the movies The Clash of Titans, The Gods of Egypt, The Wrath of Titans, etc.
