bTV Is The Audience Choice Among All TV Sources Of Information In April

The audience interest in news content related to the COVID-19 pandemic is increasing

The greatest number of viewers have watched bTV’s regular and breaking news, current affairs shows and other special live broadcasts, dedicated to the coronavirus pandemic in Bulgaria in April 2020 (GARB, All4+).

The special studio hosted by Anton Hekimyan, The COVID-19 Crisis: Everything you Need to Know, attracted more than 1.1 million viewers and 39% share of all in the time slot on April 2nd. Among the most watched news programs last month were also the COVID-19 special What’s Next, the breaking Prime Minister press conference, the special interview with the President, and bTV’s charity concert in support of the most affected groups from the epidemic #Help from Home.

 

TV News at 7 pm is the leading source of information among all TV newscasts.

 

In April, This Morning remained the information leader in the early hours of the day with 35,7% share of all viewers. Face to Face is the preferred current affairs program in the weekday afternoon /33,1% share/, and 120 Minutes attracts the biggest audience on Sunday late afternoon /28,2%/.

 

 

Bulgarian viewers have highly appreciated bTV Media Group’s shift of content focus on news and current affairs shows during the COVID-19 pandemic, also according to a recent independent survey  and online statistics for btvnovinite.bg for March 2020.

After the state of emergency was declared, bTV introduced programming changes fully in line with the current priorities of the company: to protect its people’s health and to make sure that the viewers obtain timely, relevant, useful and trustworthy information at any time of the day, on all platforms.
