Over the course of a day, some of the most essential professions in media, such as radio and TV journalist, weather forecaster, cameraman and sports journalist, were presented to hundreds of young enthusiasts. Some of the most iconic voices and faces of bTV Media Group delivered presentations and answered questions about the radios N-JOY, bTV Radio, Jazz FM and Classic FM, and the most trusted news brand –bTV News.
Gencho Genchev (Inspector N-JOY), Desi Raycheva, Neya Dimitrova, Lily Angelova, Svetoslav Nikolov, Georgi Mitov, Radostina Uzunova, Tsvetanka Rizova, Florina Ivanova, Stanislava Tsalova, Denislav Borisov, Maria Vankova and Lyuben Katsarov joined the campaign for early career orientation, sharing their experience with hundreds of young enthusiasts.
"The lack of early career orientation can be a serious challenge for future professionals, so such events are essential. Direct contact with a given profession can light the spark of curiosity in the hearts, and prevent a number of personal and professional disappointments", said Lily Angelova from bTV Radio.
The magic of radio and television is something that few people know firsthand, but those with more experience gladly shared it with young enthusiasts. "It is also called the theatre of mind, the radio air is able to excite the mind and inspire imagination. That's why it is important for us from bTV Radio Group to share with young people the art of being a radio host and mastering the skill to entice listeners through sounds and music, "said Desi Raicheva from the show Pleasantly distracted with Desi on Radio N-JOY.
"Today the kids stepped into our role brilliantly, but we were also in their place once. I myself turned to the journalistic profession in early school age. It is important to get an early orientation on what you want to work, so you have time to focus your efforts in this direction", said bTV News anchor Denislav Borisov.
During the event, hosts Georgi Mitov from Classic FM and Svetoslav Nikolov from Jazz FM radio presented a short lecture, answering the questions: What is it like to be a radio host? How do you know all the news? How many languages do you need to speak?
"Radio is a madness that, having once gotten under your skin, never leaves you," said Svetoslav Nikolov, head of programming of Jazz FM and a host of the shows Jazz Day on the jazz radio and About the City on bTV Radio.
The hosts showed the young participants in the expo how to conduct an interview and how the preparation for a radio broadcast takes place. The work of the reporters and cameramen also sparked a great interest among the students who were inspired to make their own reports on the event under the instructions of Maria Vankova and Lyuben Katsarov, this year’s Reporter of the Year and Cameraman of the Year of the bTV News. They were unanimous that the children who stepped into their roles have the qualities to become part of the bTV News team in the future.
Most of the journalists of bTV Media Group fell in love with the profession as students and easily put themselves in the place of the children at the bazaar, giving them practical advice and revealing curious details of their work behind the scenes.
