The Jazz Legend Leni Valkova With an Album From Jazz FM and a Guinness Nomination

The Only Jazz, Soul and Funk Radio in Bulgaria With a Unique Offer to Its Partners

Реклама

The only jazz, soul, funk and world music radio in Bulgaria - Jazz FM, is releasing an album of the first professional Bulgarian jazz singer Leni Valkova. This way, she became the oldest recording artist in the world, which prompted the radio to apply for entry in the Guinness Book of Records. The album, produced by Jazz FM, will trace all the important moments of her creative career - specially written for Leni songs by Yosif Tsankov, world-class songs with humorous lyrics that she wrote, jazz version of an opera aria and even a jazz standard with Leni`s improvisations in a modern club arrangement by DJ Moon - Mladen Dimitrov, host of the Jazztronica show on Jazz FM. The album features some of the most striking names on the jazz scene today - Vili Stoyanov (trombone), Kalin Zhechev (piano), Dimitar Blagoev (guitar), Daniele Phebo (bass) and Nikolay Danev (drums). The author of the arrangements in Leni's album is the grandson of Yosif Tsankov - Vili Stoyanov. Guest soloist of the first album of Leni Valkova is the trumpeter Misho Yosifov.

The album is a natural continuation of the radio project Jazz Stories, which aims to preserve the history of Bulgarian jazz and popularize it throughout its richness. At present, the team behind the project is finalizing the last adjustments to the record, and preparing the overall vision of the album. Leni's album is something unique worldwide and provides a unique opportunity for partners to get involved in this project, which will remain in the history of Bulgaria and Bulgarian jazz. Along with creating a memory for the tradition, Jazz FM is consistently developing its image as a radio station committed to the present, and setting the trends in the music environment. That is why the album contains both the eternal classics as well as a modern piece, reflecting the development of jazz today in Bulgaria.

The Jazz FM project Jazz Stories has a strong educational focus and serves as an original testimony to little known years since the development of Bulgarian jazz. On air and on the Jazz FM website, fans can hear unreleased recordings for the first time - completed songs or work excerpts that have not been publicly available until now, as well as view unpublished photos from musicians' personal collections. For our partners wishing to join Leni's album, the radio will provide special items on the album cover, in a series of interviews and with a short message to all the fans of quality music inside the album, alongside the performances of the Queen of Bulgarian Jazz.
