The Most Preferred News, Entertainment and Fiction Content This Spring Was Aired on bTV Channels

bTV is the Most Watched and Most Favorite Channel, According to the Most Recent Market Links Survey


Close to the end of the Spring TV season bTV confirmed its leading positions in terms of audience interest in all content genres, according to *GARB. The Voice of Bulgaria is the viewers’ favorite of the season, attracting nearly 50% of all viewers in the period from its launch till the end of May. The grand finale is on June 9th.

The rest of bTV’s key primetime programs, which released their final episodes in May, attracted the greatest number of viewers in their timeslots throughout the season. Among them are the series Mother and Tears of Paradise, the social project Home Makeover, the culinary hit MasterChef Bulgaria, etc. (see chart). All bTV’s primetime programs are also among the most watched shows in the Top 50 chart for May, with The Voice of Bulgaria in the lead again.

bTV retains its undisputable position as the number one choice for news and current affairs content this spring, with the central newscast attracting more than 40% of all viewers on average, and with the morning information pillar This Morning with nearly 50% share of the entire audience.

bTV’s leading position is once again confirmed by the findings of the nationwide independent survey by Market Links, conducted in April 2019. More than 31% of all respondents define bTV as their most favorite channel, and 34% say they watch bTV most.

A new addition in the May chart is bTV’s summer show Celebrity Game Night.

Both semi-finals of UEFA Champions’ League aired on bTV Action in May were in the top 50 ranking, with the clash between Barcelona and Liverpool scoring 24,2% share.

The viewer interest in the tournament naturally increased on June 1st, when the UEFA Champions’ League finale (22:00 – 24:00 h) showed the historical clash between Liverpool and Tottenham. bTV Action was the most watched TV channel in the timeslot, attracting 28,7% of all viewers, 33% of the audience aged 18-49, 40% of the young viewers aged 18-34 and 43,2% of the men in the 18-49 age group.
