The World Cleanup Day, in which for 6-th time Bulgaria will take part, will be held on September 17.

This year the largest national volunteer initiative in our country - "Let's Clean Bulgaria Together" will be held under the title "Lend a hand to nature." It is aimed at personal responsibility and contribution to the care for the cleanliness of the planet, the future and the upbringing of children.

"In the past two difficult years, our highest priority has been health - both our personal and nature. Isolation during a pandemic strengthened people's connection to nature, in which we all sought salvation. In 2022 comes the moment when we will all take care of it again, because it is our common home and on September 17 with the campaign "Let's Clean Bulgaria Together" we will prove that the power is in our hands", said Maria Lazarova, Manager of CSR Projects In bTV Media Group.

Every year the participants in "Let's Clean Bulgaria Together" are among the most active in the world. Since its inception, the most emblematic volunteer eco-initiative in Bulgaria has received the support of over 2,500,000 volunteers from all over the country. The Ministry of Environment and Water has collected nearly 94,000 tons of waste, which is equivalent to more than 200 fully loaded Boeing 747 aircraft, and more than 18,800 unregulated landfills and contaminated areas have disappeared from the map of Bulgaria. "Let's Clean Bulgaria Together" has won a number of national and international awards and recognitions for the results achieved.

The start of this year's World Cleanup Day will be given today - June 15 with a large-scale action in front of the European House in Berlin, during which appeals for support will be made by President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Mayor of Berlin Francisca Gifai.
