Strong start of the spring TV season on bTV with the special charity episode of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" hosted by Niki Kanchev

The spring season of bTV started with an extremely high viewer interest in the special charity edition of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and the big comeback of Niki Kanchev. The first special episode of the show's new season nailed 38.4% of viewers in front of the screen (All4+, source: GARB) on the Saturday night of 17 February and reporting double the score of the second-ranked TV station in the same time slot. Popular on-screen faces answered Niki Kanchev's questions and won BGN 20,000 for the Bulgarian Red Cross' "Warm Lunch" cause, supporting disadvantaged students and their parents. The initiative is being implemented for the 20th consecutive year and has so far provided free meals to a total of 23,845 children in need from all over the country. The charity episode was favored by 32.4% of active-age viewers (18-49; source: GARB), with the most-watched part of the show being Evelyn Kostova and Boyko Krastanov's game show and the answer to the question, "What product was featured in the first paid TV spot aired in the U.S. on July 1, 1941?" tracked by over 1 million viewers (All4+, source: GARB).

 "In the very first episodes of the new season, extraordinary 18-year-olds who weren't even born when "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" was launched in this country will sit in the Chair of Wealth. That's a real compliment! I'm also happy about the presence of an 80-year-old lady who wants to, can and plays!", said today his excitement Niki Kanchev in the studio of "This Morning" on bTV.

The episodes of the new season of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" start tonight at 18:00 on bTV and will be broadcast every weeknight at the same time.

In the coming days, more of the most anticipated prime-time TV shows of bTV's spring programme will start - Dancing Stars (20 February), The Bachelor 3 (21 and 22 February), I Love Bulgaria (23 February), Home Makeover and The Taste of Bulgaria (24 February) and the Bulgarian series Sunny Beach 3 and ALPHA (25 February).
