From ancient times, the image of the woman has played a major role in the creation of art. The most famous example of this are the nine muses from the ancient Greek mythology, each of which was created with the mission to inspire and endow with knowledge, artistry and musicality. Three of them are the bearers of the emotional messages that the seventh art - cinema – inspires in us every day.
In the third month of the year, in which we celebrate women and celebrate the best movie achievements with the Oscar ceremony, bTV Media Group creates a multiplatform pleasure, with which we pay due attention to all the ladies who have inspired some of the favorite movie titles, and more.
One of the first directors whose work was marked by iconic women was none other but the master of surprise - Alfred Hitchcock. Popular for his preference for blonde ladies, Hitchcock's muses include Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly and Tippi Hedren, who can be found in some of the most iconic films of his career. There is a similar connection between the controversial but undeniably brilliant Woody Allen, whose muse, Scarlett Johansson, inspired three of the most famous titles in Allen's filmography. Johansson is also a heroine in the movie "Prestige", which is part of the selection in the "Month of Oscars " on bTV Cinema. Similar tandems with remarkanly successful results are Penelope Cruz and Pedro Almodovar, Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter.
Love is the motive and prerequisite for many screen and literary masterpieces. A classic example is the Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald duo. The author of the novel “The Great Gatsby”, another title in the bTV Cinema selection in March, drew inspiration from his wife Zelda's diaries, and his writing is often based on her personal stories.
History also knows many women whose revolutionary scientific discoveries mark the progress of our time. Among the most famous names are Marie Curie and her focus on radioactivity, Rosalind Franklin, whose discoveries led to the study of the DNA structure, and mathematician Katherine Johnson, who contributed to NASA's computer program, whose name became especially popular with audiences after the "Hidden Figures" movie release - another title nominated for an Oscar and part of the selection of films on bTV Cinema in March.
Fashion - this enchanting expression of one's own vision, is another area to which many ladies have contributed with their presence. Perhaps the most famous example is the Birkin bag from the French brand Hermès, inspired by model, singer and actress Jane Birkin. The need for the actress to have a bag to collect everything led the CEO of the company to create the most famous and most expensive bag in the world - the iconic Birkin Bag, for the purchase of which ladies are still waiting for with months.
The examples of inspirational women are endless, as are the legends of the role of women in men's lives and world culture. Popular sayings such as "Behind every successful man is a strong woman" and the detective phrase "Cherchez la femme" show us the importance of the female presence in history and today.
