Asen Ivanov has been Director of the News, Current Affairs and Sports Department since 2 July 2025. He oversees news, current affairs and digital content across all bTV platforms, coordinating the work of editorial teams in each of these three key areas. His main priorities include the implementation of innovative technological solutions and the development of a multi-platform approach to the distribution of news, analysis, and digital formats.

Asen Ivanov is one of the most experienced journalists at bTV. He has many years of experience working as an executive producer, editor, author and reporter. He has worked in the bTV editorial office for over 13 years. Since 2021, he has been Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and since the beginning of 2024, he has been Editor-in-Chief of bTV News. In these roles, he is responsible for managing editorial teams and planning and creating content for newscasts, breaking news and special studio programs, as well as TV productions at home and abroad.
